Management

DIST-ANGAMALY DIST-ANGAMALY is a professional college run by De Paul Education Trust, a charitable trust, owned and managed by Marymatha Province of Vincentian Congregation. It was backed by a lofty objective of providing professional education to every segment of the society that De Paul Education Trust established DIST. The day-to-day administration of DIST is carried out by an Administrative body.

Vincentian Congregation - A Profile

The Vincentian Congregation (VC) was established in 1904 at Thottakam by Very. Rev. Fr. Varkey Kattarath, the then Vicar of Vaikom, with the approval of Mar Louis Pazheparambil, the first Vicar Apostolic of Ernakulam (1896-1919) based on the common rules of the 17th century French priest, St. Vincent De Paul, on the model of the Congregation of the Mission (CM), founded by him in 1625. Over the centuries, by extending exemplary services to the humanity, VC gained its existing position in the society. The growth of the Congregation was accelerated with the formation of many provinces and houses in many parts of the world.

Being motivated by the teachings St. Vincent de Paul, Vincentian Congregation is endeavoring to promote the Spiritual, Moral, Social, Educational and Economic development of the people by means of its Spiritual Renewal Programme, Social Service Projects, Schools, Colleges, Technical Training Institutes, Cultural Centres and so on across the world. The congregation emphasizes academic excellence, service to the community, access to education and respect for the individual as its educational policy.

St. Vincent de Paul (1581-1660) Our Patron

St. Vincent de Paul succeeded in giving concrete expression to the merciful love of the Lord. He became the inspiring presence of his time that awakened the conscience of humanity. St. Vincent de Paul left indelible marks of Christian values on the history of the 17th century France. He could command respect from even those who rose up in revolution against the church and the state alike. St. Vincent de Paul was declared the patron of Church's charitable works by Pope Leo XIII in 1833. Pope John Paul II called him "a man of action and prayer; a man of persuasion and imagination; a man of leadership and humble service; a man of yesterday and today."

He inspired many generations to be effective witnesses to the merciful love of the Lord and continues to be so. It was under the influence of St. Vincent de Paul that the Vincentian Congregation was started in Kerala, India in 1904, by very, Rev. Fr. Varkey Kattarath of venerable memory. The Congregation has more than 550 members in three provinces. V. Rev. Fr. Varghese Parappuram is the superior general of the Vincentian Congregation.
