De Paul Institute of Science and Technology (DIST), Angamaly, is an ISO 9001:2008 certified professional college run by De Paul Educational Trust. The college is situated in an eco-friendly and academic-friendly atmosphere. The idyllic serenity of the dist campus creates an appropriate ambience for the pursuit of knowledge.

De-technista-2011 gives an opportunity to stumble   and hunt for concealed talents and take them on a journey to unearth their true potential. MCA Association "INNOVISION" being the back bone of  "De-Technista-2011", is organizing  to explore and augment the pioneering ideas of the students.

A two day IT Fest De Tecknista 2011 was organized by School of Computer Science on 4th and 5th February 2011 in the DIST campus. This event was inaugurated by Mr. Balakrishnan A., CTO, Geogit BNP Paribas Financial Services Ltd. and presided by Rev. Dr. Paul Puthuva V.C, Provincial Superior, MaryMatha Province.

The ingredients of the event were coding, debugging, gaming, quiz and treasure hunt. Two informative sessions were also included in the IT fest. Dr. Gylson Thomas handled the first session on the topic "Image processing orientation towards medical imaging" and Dr. Babu Anto P engaged the next session on the topic "Mobile Adhoc Networking".

Students from twenty colleges inside and outside Kerala participated in the fest. The first day evening was made more colorful by the musical delight DJ arranged specially for the participants. The fest came to an end with the valedictory session presided by Rev. Dr. Sebastian Mappilaparambil VC, Principal, DIST and valedictory message was dispensed by Very Rev. Fr. George Pottayil VC, Asst. Provincial Superior and Education Counsellor, Mary Matha Province. Certificates were awarded for all the participants and winners were bestowed with certificates as well as cash prizes for their respective events.

Altogether this technological gathering was beneficial for the students in the burgeoning IT industry.
