"We are Equal"

Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have been identified as the two most backward groups of Indian Society. To ensure the effective implementation of the reservation policy in admission, recruitment, allotment of staff quarters, Hostels, etc., the Xth Plan profile of Higher Education incorporated the provisions for the establishment of the SC/ST Cells in higher education institutions all over the country.

Establishment of Committee for SC/ST (As per the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, No. 33 OF 1989, dated 11.09.1989).

DiST Angamaly established the SC/ST Cell on the campus. The cell fulfils the institutional assurance of parity in opportunity through various academic as well as non-academic programmes and also guides them to avail of all permissible scholarships, financial assistance, and other facilities. The SC/ST Cell exclusively looks after the work related to SC/ST matters on campus.
